Project for the week: Positive Board
Aside from the collage I'm making of random photos, I bought a small cork board. On that board I'm pinning all of the positive things I have in my life. It was a recommendation from a friend, to focus on the positive, and I will do just that. Right now it mostly consists notes from friends, pictures of happy times, and fortunes from cookies.
One of the fortunes says: "Good things will come to you in due time." When I cracked open that cookie last summer, I scoffed at the words, unable to believe that someday it might actually have truth.
And it does, because I am in a much better place then I was even just a few months ago. Maybe I'm not completely happy, but I'm getting there. The true definition of independence has a whole new meaning to me. I am proud of myself. I would have never said that before. But, I have to respect the strength that I have, and how far I have truly come in this whole mess.
I may have been a stupid doormat then, but not any longer.
