Today has been a super gloomy day. Not even a glimpse of sun.
All of the snow from the Snowpockalipse has melted, and now we're in the home stretch for Spring...
(yay!)
The Inu seems to strongly dislike the rain. He doesn't like to get even his paws wet. So our morning run was cut short because he kept on turning around to try and head home. He can be pretty difficult at times...
But....
The Food4Less has finally opened! Their special grand opening ad looked awesome, so I decided to brave the weather to go venture there. It was SUPER crowded, but SO worth it.
I haven't made a decent grocery trip in a while, and my pantry was looking kind of sad. So this was a great day to stock up! I found a lot of good deals that were unadvertised and therefore hadn't prepared for them.
I was able to get about $100 worth of food for $53.24, a savings of around 50%
(Produce/meat not pictured)
This was a huge stock up on the basics trip. I got a ton of produce:
Green Onions: 3 bundles for $1
Cauliflower: 99c per bundle
Potatoes: 5lbs for 77c
Cantaloupe: $1.50
Avocados: 2 for $1
Cucumbers: 4 for $1
(And my personal favorite)
Red Grapes: 67c lb
Food4Less does a buy 10 participating items get $3 off your grand total. There was a wide list of participating items (which were all on sale as well!), such as:
Hot/Lean Pockets
Tostino's Pizzas
Banquet Meals/Links
Ragu Sauce
Kraft BBQ Sauce
Manwich
Chef Boyardee
Yoplait Yogurt
Country Crock Margarine
And they had some other awesome deals!
Milk was $1.88 a gallon.
Eggs were $1.98 for FIVE dozen.
Kroger Brand Shredded/Block Cheese was 10 for $10
Ground Beef was $1.18 a pound
Old Orchard Juice was 85c each
Pepsi products were $1.88
Although my % of savings isn't as high as I like to see, I blame it mostly on the fact that a large amount of my total was meats (they had some cheap chicken and steak!) and produce. I jotted down quite a few of the unadvertised deals with the plan to go back tomorrow or Tuesday (when the sale ends).
But as for right now? My pantry and my fridge are full again! So it's time for some Food Network and a couple rounds of fetch with the Inu!
